Biodynamic Massage is part of Biodynamic Body Psychotherapy, developed in the 1960's by the incredible Gerda Boyesen (1922-2005), a clinical psychologist and physiotherapist.
While working in a psychiatric hospital, Boyesen became aware of the radical changes that she observed in her patients who received psychotherapeutic touch as part of their treatment. Boyesen was one of the first pioneers to work with the connection between repressed emotions, muscle tensions and illness.
I was led to this wonderful holistic healing work through a series of synchronicities and I feel privileged to be one of many carrying forward her vision.
What to expect
You can be fully or partially clothed
No oils are used increasing the sense of contact.
Your tummy rumblings are listened to with a stethoscope during the session. The sounds act as guidance for me as indicate emotional digestion - they are the sounds of your ‘unconscious’ or autonomous nervous system.
Deeply nurturing, soothing and healing for your body, mind and spirit.
How a client described the effects of a biodynamic massage session -
"I felt cared for in a way by Olivia that gave me such a deep sense of relief. It meant I could let go and I finally feel I can breathe deeply again - some old pain is clearing out at long last! I also couldn't believe how the noises that my tummy made actually coincided with the places in my body that felt blocked and stagnant - the places where I could feel needed release. Amazing!"
